SYNTHOPOL CHEMIE was founded in Hamburg in 1957 by local businessman Dr. rer. pol. Peter Koch and his wife Louise. Rapid growth at the original site meant that an increase in capacity was soon called for. In 1966, in nearby Buxtehude, within sight of the Hamburg harbour and with good links to the A1 and A7 motorways, the business found a site which had scope for expansion, and at which today a staff of around 190 is employed.
Since 1984, SYNTHOPOL CHEMIE has been directed by the second generation of the family, Dr. jur. Günter Koch. He too takes keeping the company a family firm as one of his top priorities.SYNTHOPOL CHEMIE specialises in developing and manufacturing synthetic resins for the coatings, plastics and adhesives industries. Our range of products includes not only standard binders but also a wide range of innovative products.
Today, we are one of the leading European producers of synthetic resins, with a sales figure of more than 100 million euros. This success is the result of the competence, commitment and flexibility of our staff, our innovative product development and the very latest state-of-the-art technical plant. Every year substantial investments are made in the areas of production engineering, research & development, IT and environmental protection
